GetAbout is a locally founded organization that provides transportation for anyone who does not drive for any reason. For 40 years GetAbout has provided safe, reliable transportation services to New Canaan’s senior residents, and other members of our community who are unable to drive either temporarily or due to long-term disability.
GetAbout provides free rides anywhere within New Canaan and to and from any type of medical appointment in the surrounding towns of Wilton, Norwalk, Darien, and Stamford. This past year we provided 8,000 rides to 160 New Canaan residents and we’ve delivered 2,500 Meals on Wheels to home-bound New Canaan residents.
We sincerely hope to see you on April 21st join in the celebration of this incredible organization as it is just one of the many things that make this town so special and all of us so lucky to call it home!
